My name is Sam Proctor and I am 28 years old. I took up triathlon in 2011 after being inspired by my dad Simon Proctor (owner of In A Spin Cycles) who was a successful long distance age group triathlete. I began my triathlon journey with sprint and then standard distance and now up to middle distance.

I work full time as a builder, my goal over the next 5 years is to achieve a pro licence and eventually to train and race full time against the best in the world. In June 2016 I teamed up with Mark Pearce head Coach at Intelligent Triathlon Training. I turned to Mark as I struggled knowing whether I was doing too much or too little especially while trying to juggle training with a full time job. As most Age groupers we soon established I was doing too much. Since June 2016 we have continued to improve and the gains are not showing any sign of slowing down.
